I’m going to be honest here, I don’t know squat about Hellboy. While I have seen the two previous Hellboy films, directed by Guillermo del Toro, the character of Hellboy has never been on my radar.
Well, that may change this April as a brand new Hellboy film is set to release on April 12th, 2019, starring David Harbour of Stranger Things, and directed by Neil Marshall (The Descent).
While Hellboy might be the story of a demon that doesn’t want to bring about the Apocalypse, this trailer seems to focus on the fact the world of Hellboy might mirror our own, but it’s twisted, dark and oddly hilarious. While some might not appreciate another dark hero turned comedian, something tells me that the humor found within this trailer is something of a lure to pull you into a dark and scary world that we need Hellboy to carry us through.
While some might consider this an underwhelming trailer, I often consider that some people just watch movies wrong and take too much stock in commercials design to get us to talk about movies.
Hellboy, stars David Harbour, Milla Jovovich(!), Ian McShane and Daniel Dae Kim.
