Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is coming sooner than you think

Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Home Entertainment are bringing us a Batman/TMNT animated movie this year.

Based on the hit miniseries from IDW Publishing and DC Comics, this new animated movie will see the Dark Knight Detective team up with the Heroes in a Half-Shell to take down some of Gotham City’s most heinous villains. While story details are at a minimum right now, the film will feature fan-favorite villains like Harley Quinn, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze and, of course, the Joker.

While a hard release date has yet to be determined, Syfy has reported that the film will be released on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital in late spring. The film will also feature the voice talents of Troy Baker, Eric Bauza, Darren Criss, Tara Strong and many more.

I honestly cannot believe this film is happening, even in an animated format. The source material that this film is based on, the comic book from writer James Tynion IV and artist Freddie E. Williams II is an incredible, zany blast of a comic book and I am so happy that the guys at Warner Animation have chosen that book as source material.

Oh, and just in case you needed more evidence to prove how awesome Troy Baker is, he’s voicing both Batman AND the Joker.
